autodealer Releases New Album: conclusions via Somewherecold Records

a luscious, sonic world
We’ve been absorbed in the new album from autodealer: conclusions – blissfully immersed in Matthew Richter’s luscious, sonic world. It’s been cold and rainy in Los Angeles, perfect for getting lost (and found) in one of our favorite artists’ deeply personal and beautiful magnum opus. It’s a masterpiece, now available on CD and digital formats via Somewherecold Records and on Elasticstage outside the U.S.
Conclusions was written almost entirely over the course of 10 days while Matthew’s father was sent home to hospice to die. A description he assures is not as morbid as it sounds. His dad had struggled with ill health, in and out of the hospital for almost two years. Discharged the day before his 93rd birthday, he was simply ready to come home for good and was gone 10 days later.
Matthew noted that the album was shelved for almost two years after its creation. Originally written as a meditation on loss, when he revisited and listened again he realized it was better than he originally thought and had come to mean a variety of things apart from their original intent. This album wasn’t meant to be universal and yet somehow he found it comforting to apply it to finality in general.
an existential soundtrack
conclusions is a balm for our weary minds. In this particular moment in time, we realize that perhaps the best action to take is to brew a cup of tea, slow down, and immerse in Matthew Richter’s ambient samadhi.
conclusions is now out on CD and digital formats on the Somewherecold Records Bandcamp as well as on Elasticstage for people outside the U.S.
