Cat Spit features her clowder…
Jessica Cohen, also known as Cozy-C, is a vegan rapper, drummer, writer, and attorney. Her new anthem to crazy cat people everywhere – “Cat Spit” – features her clowder (a deliciously medieval sounding way to refer to cats in the plural) of 7 babies and her fiancé, Jessica Johnson, as a fly girl. Jessica wanted to meld her writing chops, fervor for felines, and musicality to create a unique and quirky rap. Jessica has been rescuing sick, injured, and stray domestic and wild animals since she was little. Her immediate dream is to have a platform to save more animals – the furry, feathered, and scaled alike; continue her lifelong rogue rescuing; spotlight effective rescues; promote veganism; connect good-hearted people; and inspire others to live a compassionate lifestyle. Her long-term dream is to open an animal sanctuary and vegan inn (the VegInn – you heard it here first). Cozy-C has many more things to “spit” about – including spirituality (being an empath and “highly sensitive;” the intersection of faith and conspiracy “theory”); battles with OCD and depression; and being queer. Expect more ditties about animals and veganism too!
Jessica hails from Los Angeles and practices law, but dreams of living in the woods and writing full-time. Her collegiate career culminated in the receipt of a prestigious creative writing award as well as a B.A. from Cornell University, where she graduated cum laude with Distinction in All Subjects. Her legal career started at Southwestern University School of Law where she won a writing award, served as Senior Editor on University of Pennsylvania’s Journal of Animal Law as well as Notes and Comments Editor on Southwestern’s International Law Journal, founded Animal Law (both a Society and a course), and was nominated for Best Oralist at Harvard Law School’s animal law competition. Her legal career continued as Vice Chair and Senior Editor of the American Bar Association’s Animal Law Committee for several years. She has presently served the public interest for over ten years as a governmental attorney.

Jessica wishes to transmute pain into art and create levity through comedy. You can find her on YouTube @cozycspitz and on Instagram @_cozyc. She also appeared as a victorious plaintiff on Hot Bench, a nationally syndicated courtroom reality show created by Judge Judy with 2 million daily viewers @HotBench.
