Evolving Matter: A Symphony of Ceramics, Textiles, and Transformation

Artist Karla Funderburk: BirthForce 13x19.5x4.75 Frontview

Los Angeles exhibit closes Wednesday, April 15

Whether by design or pure serendipity, the exhibition Evolving Matter thematically and artistically aligns with the change of seasons, Passover, Easter, and Ramadan, as well as the return of Artemis II to Earth.

Curator Karla Funderburk has masterfully curated a cacophony of art work that, while diverse, resonates as a unified symphony. Featuring everything from ceramics and textiles to traditional painting techniques, the exhibition invites viewers on an adventure while offering a gentle reminder of our fragile nature and, most importantly, our connectivity.

I was initially drawn to the textures of the ceramics and textiles, which transitioned beautifully into monotone landscapes, balanced by explosive colors and supernatural figurative work.

Each piece gently transforms the viewer’s perceptions and experiences. This is truly a powerful, feminine, and timely exhibition.

The exhibit closes Wednesday, April 15th and is located at THE PAVILION Century City, located in the Former Annenberg Space for Photography at 10100 Constellation Blvd, Los Angeles, 90067.
