Adapted & Performed by Andrew Thacher | Directed by Paul Millet
Andrew Thacher returns to Whitefire Theatre Solofest to perform his highly acclaimed adaptation of Jonathan Livingston Seagull: A Solo Flight based on the book by Richard Bach. Paul Millet directs this AKT Up Enterprises Production.

Banished to the Far Cliffs by his flock for daring to break with tradition, Jonathan spends his life in pursuit of his unbound passion for flight, not to scrape and scrabble for food—but for the joy of flight itself. Richard Bach’s best selling 1970 novella “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” is brought vividly to life in this production, which combines intimate storytelling with thrilling theatricality.
The show garnered Best Adaptation at New York’s acclaimed United Solo Theatre Festival 2024. JLS: A Solo Flight enjoyed its world premiere in March of 2022 at Atwater Village Theatre to glowing reviews:
“Magnificent…rife with emotion, wit and subtlety” – Steven Leigh Morris, StageRaw Review
“Andrew Thacher’s work is superb, inching toward the sublime. What he has done in his fourteen-year love affair with this story is to internalize the message: Go beyond your limits. Find love. Respect those who condemn you and find a way to freedom.” Michael Sheehan, OnStage Los Angeles
A portion of the ticket sales for this performance will be donated to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Tickets are available at the Whitefire Theatre website. The Whitefire Theatre is located at 13500 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423.
