Theatre Forty Presents An Inspector Calls At the Beautiful, Historic Greystone Mansion
2 min read
Strictly limited engagement opens January 8th
Theatre Forty moves its production of An Inspector Calls to the beautiful, historic Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills for a strictly limited engagement.
A young woman is met with an untimely demise causing a respectable family to be subject to a routine inquiry in connection with her death. As an inspector calls to interrogate the family, it is revealed that each member of the family is implicated lightly or deeply in the woman’s undoing. The friendly and close-knit family at the beginning of the evening is shown to be selfish, self-centered, and cowardly. Good fellowship turns to acid and dislike as a surprising revelation turns up in the end which makes this an absolute thriller.
The murder mystery was written by playwright J.B. Priestley and debuted on Broadway in 1947. Based in Britain, many of his plays were produced on Broadway, including productions of Dangerous Corner; The Good Companions; Laburnum Grove; Time and the Conways; I Have Been Here Before; When We Are Married; The Linden Tree; and A Severed Head. Priestley worked in film and television and was the author of 28 novels.
