Dimitri Coats Berserk New Punk Rock Comedy
Dimitri Coats new sci-fi rock-n-roll comedy, FREE LSD features Jack Black and screens this Friday, August 2nd at 10:30 PM at the Landmark Nuart. There will be a post-show Q&A with OFF! band members Dimitri Coats, Keith Morris and Autry Fulbright II. The talk-back will be moderated by Dana Gould, Adam Yow and Chelsea Debo. Sometimes putting the band together is a matter of life and death.
An elderly sex shop owner, Keith, played by OFF! Frontman Keith Morris, is led into a bizarre adventure when he falls for a beautiful younger woman who visits his shop. A crazed doctor, played by Jack Black, gives him an experimental drug for erectile dysfunction which catapults him into a parallel punk rock metaverse where he is the lead singer of the band OFF! and the target of an AI species intent on stopping the band from making their new album which holds the key to awakening human consciousness.
Dimitri Coats directorial debut FREE LSD is features Jack Black (School Of Rock, High Fidelity), James Duval (Independence Day, The Doom Generation), comedian Dana Gould (“The Simpsons”), Barry Del Sherman (American Beauty, There Will Be Blood), Chelsea Debo (“Bull,” Dead Wrong), and Chloe Dykstra (Spider-Man 2, Diminuendo).
In addition to OFF!, the FREE LSD cast includes members of a few of LA’s finest bands; AFI, The Jesus Lizard, Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, Germs, Fishbone, The Flesh Eaters, Thelonious Monster… and more.
