Dreamy British Singer-Songwriter Explores Love, Loss, and Life’s Fragile Nature in Latest Visual

Rising British singer-songwriter Pip Lewis has shared the evocative new music video for “Funeral,” a standout track from her recent album Growing Pains. Known for her emotionally charged lyricism and atmospheric soundscapes, Lewis continues to cement herself as a compelling new voice in modern indie music.

At just 22 years old, Lewis brings over a decade of musical experience to her craft, creating songs that navigate the uncertainty of growing up with tenderness and depth. Growing Pains finds her weaving introspective storytelling with dreamy, textured production, and “Funeral” stands as one of its most stirring moments.

“British singer songwriter Pip Lewis reminds of La Roux or Goldfrapp in their more mellow moments but then there’s a mellow, West Coast guitar lick that transports you to a desert campfire at sunset. Vocally, this has a feel of Ellie Goulding’s early stuff and a cool, effortlessness that mixes intriguingly with the vulnerability of the lyrics.” – Listen With Monger

The song delves into themes of unrequited love and emotional absence, framing imagined loss and longing against a backdrop of moody, ethereal instrumentation. The accompanying video – now streaming HERE – brings Lewis’ vision vividly to life, blending stark imagery with surreal, dreamlike sequences that linger long after viewing.

“‘Funeral,’ and its accompanying video, plays with the idea of the end of love and the end of life,” says Lewis. “It’s a commentary on subjects that most people don’t like to dwell on. I found a lot of joy in mulling over what my funeral would look like and who would be there. The music video helped realize that mental image for me. Seeing my urn in the music video was quite grounding in a way—it served as a somewhat disturbing reminder of the finite nature of life and love.”

The release of “Funeral” follows Growing Pains, an album that charts the messy, beautiful terrain of self-discovery, heartbreak, and resilience. With its aching lyricism and cinematic visual, “Funeral” cements Pip Lewis as an artist unafraid to confront life’s most delicate truths head-on.
