Mexico City Punk Veterans Camiches Reveal Raw New Album El Dolor de lo Irremediable

The Pioneers of “Feeling Core” Return with powerful 10 song collection and music video.

For more than a decade, Camiches have stood at the forefront of Mexico City’s independent punk and hardcore scene. The band comprised of vocalist Ramsés López, drummer Farid, guitarists Nollie and Mich, and bassist Sinuhé López has released their highly anticipated new full-length album, El Dolor de lo Irremediable (The Grief of the Irreversible). 

This powerful ten-song collection further cements their reputation as the innovators behind what they proudly call “Feeling Core”. Coined by the band themselves, this term captures the intensity and urgency of punk and hardcore intertwined with nostalgia, melancholy, acoustic textures, and deeply personal storytelling. Throughout their career, Camiches have built a devoted following by proving that emotional vulnerability and musical power are not opposing forces, but complementary ones.

An Exploration of Resilience and Grief

Produced, written, and composed by brothers Ramsés and Sinuhé López, the new record explores grief, memory, resilience, love, mental health, and the realities of growing up in Latin America. Across ten songs, the album moves between deeply personal reflections and broader social observations, creating what is considered the band’s most mature and emotionally expansive release to date. The themes range from heartbreak and self-worth on Te Tengo Que Olvidar to empathy and social responsibility on Polvo de Nadie, a song inspired by homelessness and Carl Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot.

The record also features reflections on working-class life in Mexico City’s Agrícola Oriental neighborhood in 08500 and our favorite, a moving tribute to the unconditional love of a pet dog in El Amor No Dicho. Other standout moments include Las Manchas de Tu Brazo Izquierdo, which confronts unresolved loss, and the intimate meditation on depression in El Círculo de la Tristeza. The journey concludes with La Secta de los Que Extrañamos, a heartfelt tribute to the López brothers’ grandmother and the enduring presence of lost loved ones.

DIY Ethic and International Growth

Since forming in 2012, Camiches have become one of the most respected bands in Mexico’s underground community, guided by a steadfast DIY ethic. Their commitment to self-determination is evident in their production; Ramsés designed the album’s artwork, while Sinuhé handled recording, editing, and mixing. The band maintains close ties to Straight Edge culture, embracing a philosophy centered on introspection, personal growth, and positive community engagement. This mindset has fueled their extensive tours across the Americas and their growing international profile, which eventually led them to sign with Wiretap Records. 

This Wiretap partnership helps further strengthen the cultural bridge between the Mexican and North American punk scenes. With this release, Camiches continue pushing beyond traditional boundaries, delivering a record that is as emotionally devastating as it is uplifting—a reminder that connection remains possible even in life’s most difficult moments.
