Lionsgate’s Multinational Martial Arts Revenge Thriller Starring Xie Miao and Joe Taslim Hits US Theaters June 12

RabbleRouse News® attended the high-energy red carpet screening for The Furious, an unrelenting martial arts revenge thriller from Lionsgate. The event took place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the historic American Legion Post 43 in Hollywood, where creators and stars gathered to celebrate the film’s upcoming release.

A Powerhouse Creative Team 

Helmed by the internationally acclaimed action director and fight choreographer Kenji Tanigaki, the film features a stellar lineup of martial arts icons, including Xie Miao and Joe Taslim, alongside Yang Enyou, Brian Le, and Joey Iwanaga. The screenplay—penned by Mak Tin Shu, Lei Zhilong, Shum Kwan Sin, and Frank Hui—is brought to life under the production of Bill Kong, Shan Tam, and Frank Hui.

A Tale of Vengeance and Unlikely Allies 

The story centers on Wang Wei (Xie Miao), whose daughter is kidnapped by a ruthless criminal network. When the corrupt police force refuses to help, Wei embarks on a solo rampage to find her. His path crosses with Navin (Joe Taslim), a tenacious journalist searching for his own mysteriously disappeared wife. Fueled by vengeance, this unlikely duo engages in an explosive martial arts showdown against the kidnappers.

A Must-See Action Spectacle Clocking in at 113 minutes, The Furious promises a “brutal pace” filled with “non-stop jaw-dropping fight choreography”. Due to its intense content, the film is rated R for strong bloody violence and language.
