On the third floor… Bringing Flowers to the Monster

In Suite 309 find the work of artists: Amy Kaps, Dena Novak, Jenny Hager, Kaye Freeman and Vita Eruhimovitz in Bringing Flowers to the Monster.

Bringing Flowers to the Monster acknowledges the self in the camouflage of disguise and discovery. Through patterning, screens and maximalism these artists explore moments of vulnerability and hiding in plain sight. The monster can simultaneously be external and internal, triggering self-protectionism, but also tender moments of wonder and a desire to be seen. Each of these artists plumb the metaphoric bringing flowers to the monster through imagery, formal constructs, and explorations of multiple perspectives and liminal spaces.
