(October 24, 2025) Award-winning, Minnesota-based composer, producer, and singer-songwriter Bryan Schumann has released his sophomore album with The Sunshapes, Heart & Horizon. The new record blends sounds from pop, folk, indie, rock, electronic, and classical genres in both upbeat and moody melodies. These latest tracks follow his Summer 2025 debut Bombshell Tree of Life.
Both albums feature performances from musicians from the US, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Croatia, Malaysia, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, and the UK making them a world-wide collective with influences across the eras.
Ambient good vibes
Besides performing his own music as a solo act, with The Sunshapes, and under his instrumental project Ambient Embrace, Bryan’s music has also been performed by a number of classical ensembles including the Saint Paul Civic Symphony, the Augsburg Symphony Orchestra, and the Zeitgeist New Music Ensemble.

Up to Down
One of our favorite tracks on Heart & Horizon is Up to Down which features acoustic guitar, trumpet, and cello. Schumann said of the song: “This one came to me nearly all at once—just after the new year when I saw a lot of posts about how people had experienced “lots of ups and lots of downs” in the past year. It seemed like a simple idea at first, but it quickly turned into something more meaningful.
The song explores how love and presence can be a grounding force in the midst of life’s unpredictable moments. Even when things feel cold or uncertain, the ability to truly connect with someone and show up for them can make all the difference. It’s a reminder that the ups and downs are part of the journey, but love has a way of lifting us back up when we need it most.“
Well.. here’s that that… Let love rule!
