Puppets, Practical SFX, and Star-Studded Guest Stars
The series features marionette puppet sequences designed and directed by Joel Goulet for Direct Message, alongside practical SFX make-up from Monster in My Closet, known for work on Smile 2 and Hocus Pocus. Joining creator Cassie Workman—an acclaimed writer, actor, comedian, poet, musician, and visual artist—on screen is a guest roster featuring rock goddess and icon Shirley Manson of Garbage, comedian Ben Russell, and an all-star cast of demons and evil puppets. The show was shot entirely on location in Asbury Park, New Jersey, at the Wolfe & Kron bookstore and Georgies, Asbury’s oldest gay bar.
Uplifting Underrepresented Voices in Genre Entertainment
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Hannah Welever with cinematography by Frederic Fasano (Mother of Tears, The Helpsters), the series was brought to life by a crew comprised predominantly of women, queer, and LGBTQIA+ artists. The show marks one of the first productions to launch from Lilly Wachowski’s Anarchists United Studios, spearheaded alongside Sarah Marie Flores and Lawrence Mattis to focus on elevated genre projects created by artists from underrepresented communities. Independent production company ETCH—founded in 2024 by Philip Gelatt, Will Battersby, and Morgan Galen King—financed and produced the series as its third release, following First Word On Horror and Art Show! With Captain Skinner.

From Award-Winning Stage to Cult Occult Television
Creator Cassie Workman brings a celebrated international performance background to the project. Her hit 2019 stage show Giantess earned the Best Show Award at the Sydney Comedy Festival, while her 2021 show Aberdeen won the prestigious Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022. Executive producers have offered high praise for the upcoming series; ETCH partners Philip Gelatt and Will Battersby commended the show’s “punk energy of resistance,” while Lilly Wachowski praised Workman for weaving a “wickedly delightful” story.
