Josh Loeb’s Long-Distance Rom-Com ‘In Spite of Ourselves’ to Have Theatrical Run

In director Josh Loeb’s new romantic comedy In Spite of Ourselves, Portland baker Hannah meets up-and-coming Los Angeles comedian Archie, igniting a whirlwind two-week romance. But when real life pulls them back to their separate cities, the pair must navigate distance, doubts, and their own hilariously messy insecurities to figure out if they can give love a real chance. After a successful festival run and world premiere at Cinequest Film Festival 2026, this heartfelt indie feature will screen in New York, Portland, and Los Angeles next month.

Starring alongside leads Brett Dier and Conor Leslie are Mo Mandel, Alyssa Limperis, Britian Seibert, Zora Casebere, Ethan Ingle, and Glenn Morshower. The romantic comedy is produced by Josh Loeb, Michelle Lewitt, Gabe Mayhan, and Tim Harms, with Shirley Loeb serving as executive producer and Gabe Mayhan handling cinematography.
