AUTODEALER
Songs “lush with atmosphere and imagination whether teasing with minimalist grace or lush with sonic life.”
Matt Richter is AUTODEALER, an ambient music act from LA who began playing in 2002 around San Luis Obispo opening for bands like The Swords Project, MONO, Maserati, Landing and many others. His albums Circumstances, Interims, Circuit Dreams the Signal, and Structured Living for Young Minds are all available for purchase on bandcamp. 2023’s Circumstances received the Highest Possible Recommendation from Doodlehound who said the songs are “lush with atmosphere and imagination whether teasing with minimalist grace or lush with sonic life.”
Matt also serves as half of the experimental ambient folk pop duo Lanfair Field with Bobby McElver and is a member of the electronic duo TRANSVERSE with Jason Lamoreaux (The Corrupting Sea). Lanfair Field recorded the score for LA Playwright Tony Foster’s highly acclaimed play “Asleep On A Bicycle” for the Elephant Theatre Company in the Lillian Theatre (The Broadwater).
Ice Planet 9000
“Known for his live performances that feel like they’re from a sci-fi odyssey, Ice Planet 9000 doesn’t use a DAW—he creates everything live like it’s 1978.”
Formed in 2018, Ice Planet 9000 is the brainchild of Brent Zius and Karl Learmont. Their music defies genre boundaries, blending elements of Active Ambient and the iconic Berlin School. Inspired by 70s sci-fi classics and legendary artists like Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, and Tangerine Dream, Ice Planet 9000 weaves intricate sonic landscapes using a mix of modern and vintage synthesizers, along with custom-built musical instruments. Their new album Sequence 2: Star Chamber is available on Bandcamp.
