A Unique “Family Affair” Production

A true family collaboration, the film was written, directed, and produced by Matthew Engelbert, starring his daughters Joely and Phoebe, who both contributed to the writing. The entire Engelbert family contributed to the production, handling everything from the soundtrack and sound design (Eli Engelbert) to hair, makeup, and cinematography assistance (Ariel and Zoey Engelbert).

Technical Innovation and Critical Acclaim

What Tomorrow Brings stands out for its unique technical approach: it was shot entirely on an iPhone 15 Pro Max using full-scene takes without any internal cuts. This immersive style has already garnered significant recognition; Joely Engelbert won Best Actress at the film’s World Premiere at the Santa Fe Film Festival, and the production was named Best Feature at the Saints and Sinners Film Festival. With a runtime of 1:36:57, this unrated film also features an original song by Zoey Engelbert and was showcased at the Richmond International Film Festival.
