Norwegian instrumental trio Orions Belte begins their North American Tour in LA, bringing their groove to Lodge.Room. Highland Park, Friday, February 21st.

“Is it blues? Is it world music? Is it pop? You can choose whichever you want, it’s not important for Orions Belte to be pigeonholed. They’re playing instrumental music inspired by Nigerian 70’s rock, postcards from the French Riviera and Formula 1.” (Orions Belte, YouTube)

Guitar player Øyvind Blomstrøm and bass player Chris Holm met while touring with Norwegian folk singer Ingebjørg Bratland. They immediately bonded over their love for instrumental music and after that tour they recruited drummer Kim Åge Furuhaug, one of Holm’s longtime friends and collaborators to form Orions Belte in 2018.

There are some places and moments that tie people together forever, whether it be a place, a song or something you can’t quite define through words. The origins of Orions Belte stemmed from one of those mystical moments in time, which spawned a lasting creative connection.
