Rainee Blake, Australian-born singer-songwriter, musician, and actress who’s now based in Los Angeles will perform her celebrated 60 minute one-woman Joni Mitchell retrospective Take Me As I Am at The Write-off Room on Friday, October 25th at 8 pm to be followed by a set of Rainee’s original songs. The show was a huge hit with audiences at Hollywood Fringe Festival & Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023, winning rave reviews and multiple awards.

Take Me As I Am (named after a lyric in the song ‘California’) explores the stunning songs and stories of the famed Canadian songbird. The show is set at the peak of Joni’s career on a night in 1976 after Joni returned home from a solo road trip across America before the release of her acclaimed album Hejira. The show spans Mitchell’s eight studio albums from ‘Ladies of the Canyon’ to ‘Hejira’, featuring most prominently the songs from her acclaimed album ‘Blue’ – widely credited as one of the best albums ever made. Playing both guitar and dulcimer, Rainee performs classic songs like Woodstock, Both Sides Now and A Case of You.
