The Grand Opening Of Newly Renovated Youth Spaces at Central Library

Glendale Library, Arts & Culture will host a family friendly Grand Opening of the newly renovated Youth Spaces at Central Library on Saturday, November 23rd from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at 222 East Harvard Street, Glendale, CA.

The City of Glendale and Library, Arts & Culture department will unveil the newly redesigned Children’s Space, a Teen Space, and state-of-the-art Sound Space where the public can learn to record podcasts, music and programs.

GLAC’s Acting Director, Lessa Pelayo-Lozada said “Libraries are more than just buildings filled with books; they are vital spaces where children and teens can ignite their imaginations, explore their creativities, and find a sense of belonging. Central Library’s unique Youth Spaces will offer Children and Teens a place to dream, discover and grow.”

An Iconic Example of Brutalist Architecture

The Central Library opened in 1973 and is an iconic example of Brutalist architecture. It was designed by Welton Becket and Associates. To plan and design the remodel, The City of Glendale worked with architects Johnson Favaro, LLC.
