Must See Theatre at #HFF24

Meet Auntie B: An Upper West Side Manhattanite and advice columnist extraordinaire in Becca Lustgarten’s World Premiere, Dear Auntie B. Written and performed by Becca Lustgarten, directed by Sally Hughes.

B, a self-proclaimed dating guru and a hoot of a cultural commentator, receives terrible news while working on her column that threatens to derail her, both personally and professionally. Dear Auntie B. is about the fight for true love, and, ultimately, how we process and move through grief.

Becca Lustgarten originally hails from Ithaca, New York. She received her undergraduate training at Boston University, earning a BFA in Theatre Arts. During her time at BU, she studied abroad at the Accademia Dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy, training in Commedia, red-nose clowning, and physical acting. While living on the East Coast, Becca had the opportunity to work with Tony-Award winning artists at the Hangar Theatre and the Williamstown Theatre Festival, before moving out to California where she had the great fortune to perform on the stages of South Coast Repertory and Berkeley Repertory Theatre.

She recently completed her graduate training at the acclaimed University of San Diego/Shiley Graduate Acting Program, where she was one of seven actors selected as a part of the school’s Group 35. Favorite credits include Mother Courage in “Mother Courage and her Children”, The Fortune Teller in “Skin Of Our Teeth”, and Quince in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on the Old Globe stage.

RabbleRouse Theatre Sage Tip

The historic and gorgeous Formosa Cafe is a five minute walk from The Actors Company. The Formosa is said to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in West Hollywood. See a show, take a stroll. Order a Secret Garden, a Singapore Sling or a Flying Embers Ginger Yuzu Mule Hard Kombucha. Have a Crab Rangoon Dip or the Formosa Chow Fun, of course there is a vegan option. If you’re lucky enough to arrive during Golden Hour, The Ginger Rogers pairs quite well with the Shrimp Har Gow. And remember, life is unpredictable, desert is necessary: Fried Sesame Balls & Taro Ice CreamMap HERE!
