Actress, Figure Skater, Professional Dancer and Yoga Professor, Mayuri Bhandari blends her unique experience as an Indian American navigating microaggressions in Western commercialized ‘Indian’ spaces in an Encore performance of The Anti “Yogi” at the Zephyr Theatre on August 11th at 7:30 PM. The production just completed a sold out run with 6 nominations at The Hollywood Fringe Festival where it was the winner of the FRINGE AWARD FOR DANCE AND PHYSICAL THEATRE and also awarded the ZEPHYR’S ZEST AWARD. The Anti “Yogi” is produced by Jessica Lynn Johnson, Directed by: D’Lo and Shyamala Moorty and Choreographer/Dramaturg, Shyamala Moorty. Live Percussion played by Neel Agrawal. Brisk Festival L.A. begins this weekend.

Saturday & Sunday through 9/8 – Brisk Festival LA IV

The Brisk Festival L.A. kicks off Saturday in Santa Monica at the Morgan-Wixson Theater. Brisk Festival is an international theater festival showcasing short, one-act plays, founded by Spanish actor, producer, acting coach, and director, Christian Rodrigo in 2018. This year over 220 artists take the stage as the festival runs Saturday, August 10th through Sunday, September 8th. There are performances in English and in Spanish, as this multi-cultural event includes participants from Mexico, Peru, Florida, and Spain joining local artists.
