Expands Podcast IP Into Animation
Independent mini-studio Wonkybot Entertainment has officially launched Wonkybot Kids, a dedicated YouTube hub designed to house the company’s expanding slate of family-focused animated properties. The launch is accompanied by a newly released brand trailer showcasing upcoming titles and marks a significant evolution for the creator-led studio, which built its audience through an original podcast network before transitioning into animation.
Leading the rollout is BLISS, a short-form preschool animated series created by Wonkybot CEO and co-founder Stewart St John, premiering March 6 on its own dedicated BLISS YouTube channel and on the Wonkybot Kids platform.
Inspired by the popular Wonkybot podcast Following Bliss, BLISS becomes the first property from the company’s audio library to make the leap into full animation. The series follows Bliss the Friendly Fairy, who lives in Sparkle Forest alongside her spirited wand Wandie and unicorn companion Starlight. Through whimsical adventures and uplifting musical segments, Bliss helps creatures and friends in need while emphasizing kindness, confidence and celebration of individuality. The production is animated by the newly formed Wonkybot Animation division.

The launch of Wonkybot Kids signals a broader strategy for the indie studio: building a direct-to-audience ecosystem that incubates owned IP while expanding into new visual formats.
“We’ve spent years creating and retaining ownership of our original characters through podcast storytelling,” said St John. “Wonkybot Kids is the natural next step — bringing those worlds to life visually while building a central home for our growing catalog.”
“The media landscape is changing rapidly, and independent creators now have tools to build global franchises from the ground up,” St John added. “By owning our IP and developing it across multiple formats, we’re able to move faster, stay nimble and ensure the stories remain consistent with the worlds we’ve created.”
Tara Tremendous
Wonkybot has already validated its IP-first approach through its flagship audio franchise Tara Tremendous, which has amassed millions of downloads globally and expanded into live concert performances featuring Broadway talent Annie Golden, Kecia Lewis and Micky Dolenz (with original songs by Stewart St John and Michael Plahuta), an upcoming book series, and a live-action feature film currently in development.
The company’s model — establish original characters through audio, build a devoted audience, then expand into animation, publishing and live experiences — has proven both creatively and commercially effective. With Wonkybot Kids, the studio is scaling that blueprint across a broader catalog while maintaining direct creative stewardship over its content.
In addition to BLISS, the Wonkybot Kids trailer previews several properties in development, including:
– Spooky Troop Mysteries, based on the hit podcast Spooky Troop featuring seven supernatural friends solving mysteries in the Netherrealm alongside their ghostly dog, Spookers.
– Young Tara Tremendous, inspired by the popular Tara Tremendous podcast, exploring the early adventures of the Tremendous Universe’s most powerful young hero.
– Drew Draws, a preschool companion series about a boy whose magical marker brings his drawings to life.
– Chase in Space, following a tween bellhop navigating life inside an intergalactic hotel.
As with Wonkybot’s podcast slate, St John writes and directs the material, working closely with co-producers Todd Fisher and Michael Plahuta to maintain a streamlined creative pipeline. The studio’s leadership views the YouTube launch not only as an extension of its podcast success but as a foundational platform for a larger animation initiative.
While Wonkybot Kids launches on YouTube as a direct-to-audience initiative, the company views the platform as the first window in a broader expansion strategy. With a growing catalog of original IP and an in-house animation pipeline, Wonkybot is actively exploring additional partnerships and distribution opportunities across streaming, licensing and international markets.
St John began his career at Hanna-Barbera, where he was mentored by Joseph Barbera — who once remarked he believed Stewart would one day have his own studio. With the launch of Wonkybot Kids, that vision enters its next chapter.
BLISS premieres March 6 on YouTube.
