Our new favorite all-female LA indie rock band, Kim Theory released their debut record, Bitch Scene November 14th. The high school rockers then celebrated with a sold out record release party on November 15th. The show was at Backyard Party, an all-ages music and event venue in Pasadena. Backyard Party is part of Altadena Musicians & Instrumental Giving, a registry app where musicians can list the gear they lost in the LA fires and donors can help to replace them through gifting or purchasing directly.
The 4-song EP was recorded by Paul Roessler (Screamers, DC3, 45 Grave, Twisted Roots) at his Kitten Robot Studios. Kim Theory‘s a perfect mix of indie rock, pop-punk and riot girrrrl ferocity. The band includes lead vocalist, Audrey Cymone, guitar player Lula Seifert, bass player Lucy Fraser and drummer Zoey Su. Their name is a reference to Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Kim Shattuck (the Muffs) and Kim Deal (The Pixies).

Killer tracks
Bitch Scene has 4 killer tracks that punch with a raw perfection. Reminding us of decades of female punk history in LA. They take their place on a path blazed by legends Alice Bag, Exene Cervenka, the Runaways, the Muffs, GoGo’s, the Pandoras and The Linda Lindas. We can’t wait to see what Kim Theory does next!
The band recently had an extraordinary experience when riot grrrl legends, Bratmobile reposted their cover of “Gimme Brains” on Instagram. Bratmobile then brought them onstage for the song at the Belasco theatre in front of a sold-out crowd.
