New York City-based alternative-pop artist Jess Yaffa is set to release her new single and music video, “Spill My Guts,” on Friday, September 18. The track marks the very first release from her upcoming EP, FALSE SPRING, which is scheduled to drop later this fall.

An Uplifting Leap of Faith

“Spill My Guts” represents a bold creative turning point for Yaffa, serving as the lead track for her first entirely self-written and self-produced body of work. Musically, the song blends an upbeat, driving tempo with deeply vulnerable, yet empowering lyrics about taking emotional risks. Yaffa describes the track as a dreamy reflection on the hope of a relationship going well, noting, “regardless of what happens, I’m happy I said it anyway.”

Stepping Into the Producer’s Chair

This release marks a significant evolution from Yaffa’s 2025 debut album, Thoughts That Keep Me Up at Night, which was produced in collaboration with Grammy-winner Scott Jacoby. For her new EP, Yaffa has taken full control of the production reins, expanding her creative role beyond songwriting and performing into every stage of shaping her signature sound.

Supporting Women Behind the Boards

She worked closely with Brooklyn-based Degraw Sound audio engineer Leah Dunn to bring the recordings to life. This collaboration reflects Yaffa’s dedicated commitment to supporting and working with other women—including artists, producers, and engineers—taking ownership of both creative and technical spaces within the music industry.
