Step back into 1958 Hollywood for an interactive murder mystery, live music, and fine dining through Halloween night.

Step back into 1958, where glamour meets gossip, and everyone has a secret worth killing for. A Killer Night in Studio City is bringing a genre-bending, fully immersive murder mystery dinner experience to Vitello’s, the legendary Studio City culinary spot long favored by Hollywood stars.

The interactive production blends a fast-paced comedic stage play with live musical performances of 1950s hits, inviting audience members to solve a high-stakes Hollywood crime while enjoying a multi-course dinner.

The Mystery: Who Killed Sophia Vance?

The evening takes place at the memorial for Sophia Vance, Hollywood’s fastest-rising young starlet whose tragic end has left the town buzzing. As guests move between rooms at Vitello’s, clues unfold across the evening, revealing that virtually everyone in attendance has a motive. Could the murderer be Johnny Turner, the A-list movie star who couldn’t handle being rejected by Sophia, or Ronnie Bennett, the actor famous for playing a television detective? Other key suspects include Arthur Clarkston, the makeup artist and custodian of all of Sophia’s secrets, Edith Sinclair, a determined gossip columnist hungry for her next front-page story, and even Mama Vitello, the matriarch of Studio City’s iconic eatery. By the end of the night, all will be revealed, leaving guests to find out whether they correctly deduced who the murderer is.

Dinner and Drama

Along with suspense, drama, and 1950s tunes, the evening features a sumptuous dinner package with a choice of chicken, fish, or vegetarian entrée, served alongside coffee, tea, or soft drinks. Alcoholic beverages are available separately for purchase.

A Star-Studded Creative Team & Cast

The production boasts a seasoned roster of stage and screen talent. The play was co-written by husband-and-wife team Kevin Allen Jackson and Kristine Dickson. Dickson—a veteran of over 300 performances in Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding—previously produced the award-winning Los Angeles hit Louis and Keely Live at the Sahara. Jackson holds an MFA in Directing from the Actors Studio Drama School, co-wrote screenplays including The Legacy and For Spacious Sky, co-founded MyTeeVee, and co-hosts the sports and culture podcast Upon Further Review.

The production is directed by Noah Blake (Harry and the Hendersons), son of actors Robert Blake and Sondra Blake, who brings decades of experience as a director, actor, comedian, musician, and voice artist. Blake also co-hosts Upon Further Review alongside Jackson and performs in the cast with Anthony Carro, Brianna Kellum, Brittany Pirozzoli, Scott Striegel, and Sarah Wolter, with Joey Stromberg serving as understudy. Behind the scenes, the crew includes Stage Manager Gabriella Howell, Assistant Stage Manager Paige Blosser, Costume Designer Juliette Lunger, Assistant Costume Designer Ciara Cruz, Sound Designer Jake Eberle, SFX Props Designer Artur Mirzoyan, and Video Producer Wes “Charlie” Chappell, with properties managed by Jackson and Dickson.
