Film Crews Seen Again in Los Angeles Though Location Filming Has Declined

1 min read

Los Angeles breathed a sigh of relief after the SAG-AFTRA Strike Ended at 12:01 AM, Thursday, November 9th, 2023. FilmLA President Paul Audley reported to Deadline that “Although our latest report reveals a decline in filming on location, local production facilities tell us that they are operating at capacity,”

California’s film incentives resulted in under 10% of scripted feature film shooting days in LA while scripted television numbers are being greatly propelled by the California Film & Television Tax Credit Program. Los Angeles filmmakers remain optimistic that production levels will grow as we get further into the year and that state and local government will continue to make it easier to work in the creative arts that are so vital to our economy.
