The Shoegaze-soaked standout from the band’s debut album gets a striking new visual treatment.
High desert alternative band BED has officially unveiled a brand-new video for “From Above,” a highlight from their recently reissued self-titled LP via Quiet Panic. The release comes as the group wraps up a successful string of tour dates across the U.S. and Canada, which included a hometown community mini-festival benefiting CHIRLA at Echoplex.
The new video serves as a “visual companion” that perfectly captures the atmospheric intensity and emotional weight of one of the band’s defining tracks. Originally released in 2022, BED’s debut full-length statement is a masterclass in balance, blending shimmering shoegaze textures with a raw post-hardcore urgency and emotionally charged alternative rock songwriting.
Masterful production
The post hard-core vibes of “From Above” are bolstered by masterful production; the track was recorded with Alex Estrada (Joyce Manor, Touché Amoré) and mixed by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Gouge Away), ensuring the band’s “atmospheric” layers maintain their “edge” and artful craftsmanship.
The Evolution of the Sound
Emerging from the outskirts of Los Angeles, BED has evolved from a solo project into a formidable four-piece shaped by the DIY scene. Their sound draws deep inspiration from a diverse lineage of acts, including post-hardcore & emo icons: Title Fight, Basement, and Joyce Manor and shoegaze & alt-rock legends: Smashing Pumpkins, Nothing, and Blink-182.
The result is a style that feels both nostalgic and immediate—melodic enough to hum along to, but grounded in the grit of underground venues.
Limited Vinyl Reissue Out Now
Following the band’s spring tour, fans can finally own the self-titled album on vinyl via Quiet Panic. This first-ever pressing is available as a limited opaque white with pink splatter edition.
