Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin brings a live score and 4K screening of Dario Argento’s 1982 horror classic to Glendale’s historic Alex Theatre on November 11th.
With a rich and complex history spanning over 50 years, Claudio Simonetti & Goblin remain a defining force in Italian prog-rock and horror cinema. Known for Simonetti’s signature polyharmonics and legendary scoring work with directors like George Romero, Lamberto Bava, and Dario Argento, the seminal outfit has issued a low ticket alert as their North American tour sells faster than ever.
For Southern California horror and music fans, the tour brings this special concert experience to Glendale’s historic Alex Theatre on November 11th.
A 4K Remastered Classic Meets Live Electronic Prog-Rock
This year’s tour celebrates their collaboration on Dario Argento’s critically acclaimed 1982 classic, Tenebre. The show features Simonetti’s Goblin performing their pervasive score live and synchronously alongside a 4K restored screening of the film.
Following the movie’s finale, the ensemble returns after a brief intermission for an additional “best of” set featuring quintessential Goblin themes and soundtracks set to their cinematic counterparts on screen—including selections from Suspiria, Deep Red, Dawn of the Dead, Demons, and Opera.
Revisiting the Vocoders, Synth Beats, and High-Energy Rock of the ’80s
Composed during the heyday of 1980s dance music, the Tenebre soundtrack stands out in Argento’s filmography for its electronic rock foundation, disco-driven title theme, and iconic vocoder parts that continue to be sampled across genres.
“After many years—and having performed the scores for Suspiria, Deep Red, Demons, and Dawn of the Dead in North America on various occasions—I have finally decided to play Tenebre on tour, partly in response to requests from so many North American fans,” stated Claudio Simonetti. “It is a wonderful new experience to perform the soundtrack to one of Dario Argento’s most beloved films live, newly restored to 4K.”
He added: “I have sought to recreate the original electronic style while injecting a dose of high-energy rock to give the sound a more contemporary feel.”
Bringing Italian Horror History to Glendale’s Alex Theatre
The upcoming series of performances aims to recreate the suspense and thrilling atmosphere of Tenebre inside some of North America’s most historically significant theaters—a lineup that highlights Glendale’s landmark Alex Theatre, which originally opened its doors in 1925.
“I am very excited to embark on this tour, hoping to satisfy the large number of fans who requested it and who have long awaited the chance to finally see it performed live by my seasoned and powerful band,” Simonetti noted. “Naturally, after the movie live, we’ll play many of our greatest hits, as usual.”

Tickets across North America are selling rapidly. Full tour status updates and ticket purchases are available directly through Tone Deaf Touring while seats remain.
