Jewel City Concert Series Returns to Artsakh Paseo in Glendale

Starting September 26, the Artsakh Paseo in Glendale transforms again into an open-air music hub for five consecutive Saturdays as the Jewel City Concert Series makes its return. Running weekly through October 24, these free, all-ages performances kick off at 5:00 PM, celebrating the community’s rich creative talent and diverse cultural fabric.

“The Jewel City Concert Series is part of our ongoing commitment to enliven the Artsakh Paseo and create meaningful cultural experiences in Downtown Glendale,” said Lessa Pelayo-Lozada, Director of Glendale Library, Arts & Culture. The series is presented by and sponsored by the Arts & Culture Commission using funding from the Urban Art Program, aiming to turn the paseo into a welcoming neighborhood space where residents can unwind and connect.

How Glendale’s Arts & Culture Commission Built a Top LA Cultural Destination

Glendale, historically known as the “Jewel City” and the fourth largest city in Los Angeles County is a true jewel for arts and culture in the broader LA area. The Glendale Arts & Culture Commission is dedicated to enriching the human experience and reinforcing civic pride by consciously integrating arts and culture into the daily lives of residents.

By leveraging public resources like the Urban Art Program to fund free community performances, the Commission actively works to continually transform Glendale into an ever-evolving arts destination. This strong commitment to publicly funded arts not only stimulates the local economy but also recognizes how vital arts and culture are to the community’s quality of life.

The city’s ongoing investment in the arts serves as a powerful engine for improving overall quality of life. Proving that when municipalities weave creative programming into the city’s urban design, planning, economic development, and education everyone benefits. Glendale does more than just host events, it consciously elevates the daily routine of its residents with public art. When neighbors, families, and friends gather in the heart of the city to unwind and connect, these shared artistic experiences enrich the human experience, strengthen the local economy, and turn public spaces into thriving community hubs.
