Weekend Plans? Some suggestions for July 4th fun and fireworks!

Los Angeles is preparing for an unforgettable holiday weekend, offering a wide array of Independence Day fireworks and festivities across the City of Angels. From the “massive fireworks spectacular” at the Hollywood Bowl to the city-sponsored show in Woodland Hills, there are numerous ways to experience a fireworks display and have some fun this weekend.

Whether you prefer a star-studded event at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum or a free over-the-water fireworks show in Marina del Rey, we have a few ideas to help you find the perfect spot.

Iconic Music and Massive Fireworks

For those who want high-energy performances, L.A.’s most iconic venues have you covered:

The Hollywood Bowl: Enjoy a classic L.A. experience with The Beach Boys and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, concluding with a “massive fireworks spectacular”. If you want to keep the celebration going into Sunday, the Bowl will also host Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass. Tickets at HollywoodBowl.com.

America250 at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum: This massive show features a powerhouse lineup including Chris Stapleton, Chaka Kahn, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Queen Latifah. More information can be found at LAColiseum.com.

Free Community Celebrations and Drone Shows

Sometimes the best things in life are free. There are many events or alternatives to traditional fireworks for you to condider:

  • Grand Park Summer Block Party: Located in the heart of DTLA, this free celebration features music, art, community vibes, and an iconic drone show. Find information HERE.
  • Marina del Rey: Head to the coast for a free over-the-water fireworks display at Burton Chace Park.
  • Warner Park in Woodland Hills: Residents of the San Fernando Valley can enjoy a city-sponsored fireworks show right in their neighborhood.

Sports, Movies, and Theme Parks

Independence Day weekend offers unique ways to celebrate beyond the standard concert format:

Theme Parks: Both Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm will be hosting patriotic firework finales to cap off a day of rides.

Dodger Stadium: Catch the Dodgers vs. Padres game and stay afterward for a combined drone and fireworks show. GO Dodgers!

Cinespia at Hollywood Forever Cemetery: Movie buffs can enjoy a special screening of Jurassic Park followed by a fireworks display.

Redondo Beach: For a Westside vibe, you can watch the sky light up from the Redondo Beach Pier or the ocean-view terrace of the Redondo Beach Hotel.
