Lionsgate has officially locked in an August 25, 2026 digital and VOD launch date for director Joshua Wagner’s claustrophobic indie horror flick, Turning Point. The newly released trailer showcases a chaotic home-invasion thriller with a massive genre twist: a pair of thieves break into a house, only to realize they are trapped inside with a homeowner who is actively transitioning into a flesh-eating zombie.

For horror fans looking for a fresh spin on the undead genre, the film’s secret weapon appears to be cult-favorite actor DJ Qualls (Road Trip, Creepshow), who steps into the fray as Casper, a bizarre, horror-obsessed neighbor holding the key to their survival. Alongside co-star and horror veteran Lydia Hearst (Z Nation), the film looks to combine the tight suspense of Don’t Breathe with a gory, mutating creature feature.

The film centers on these thieves trapped in an isolated home with a homeowner undergoing a violent mutation, forcing them to survive a unique, locked-down infection scenario. The narrative features eccentric neighbor Casper as a key figure in the unfolding survival fight.
