Three Performances in Southern California April 11, 12 and 26

Megan Dolan, writer and performer of the award-winning, hilarious and heart-felt one person show, Not the Right Momis currently on a nation-wide tour. This spring she brings the show home to Southern California for three performances at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center on April 11, The Lewis Family Playhouse on April 12 and to the Poway Performing Arts Center on April 26.

Not The Right Mom invites you into the wildly relatable, unexpectedly hilarious world of parenting a child with autism—where expectations crumble, snack time is a battlefield, and unconditional love leads the way. Through razor-sharp storytelling and a performance full of fire and grace, Megan Dolan explores the heartache and humor of feeling like the odd one out. But as she stumbles, questions, and redefines motherhood on her terms, she discovers a fierce kind of joy that only comes from letting go. This show is bold, brilliant, and beautifully human, offering more than just laughs—it gives permission to exhale.

This show has everything I love: humor, humanity, and heart.”— bestselling author Anne Lamott

Not the Right Mom has been seen on such Southern California stages as the Long Beach Playhouse, Whitefire Theatre (Best of Fest) and the Curtis Theatre (selected entry Amplify series). Megan and her team are thrilled to be bringing this much-needed story back to Southern California.

Megan gives the audience the one thing every parent is looking for: a safe space to redefine heroism as the ability to laugh, love, and cry all while wanting to slow down time because you don’t want to miss a thing.”—LA Parent Magazine

Dolan deals with the pressure to measure up that all mothers, fathers, well, just about everyone of every age feels these days…she touches on all the biggies of feeling small: the guilt, the shame, the confusion… She’s good. It’s good. Go.—Long Beach Post
