Short-Form Theater Takes Center Stage in Los Angeles

Oscar Wilde, a matchmaker’s nightmare blunder, and an unlikely lifelong bond with Santa Claus are all setting up shop at the Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre this month. Presented by Combined Artform and produced by Matthew Quinn and Bertha Rodriguez, the 30–60 Minute Festival brings an eclectic slate of short-form comedy, drama, puppetry, and solo performance to Los Angeles from November 13 through November 22, 2026. Designed with compact runtimes, the festival lets audiences drop in for a quick 30-minute dose of theater or stack two completely distinct shows into a single evening double-feature.

From Oscar Wilde to AI: 30–60 Minute Festival Opens Nov. 13

The festival kicks off on Friday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. with The Queen of Reading Gaol, a dramatic solo piece imagining Oscar Wilde reflecting on the Paris premiere of Salome from his English prison cell. Immediately following at 7:45 p.m. is Collateral Damage, where a professor preparing to accept an honor in memory of her late mother finds long-buried family secrets unearthed during a conversation with her AI companion.

Sunday, November 15 at 6:45 p.m. shifts gears to solo comedy with Olivia Raine Atwood: Oops, chronicling a professional matchmaker’s catastrophic real-life mistake of accidentally pairing her college ex-boyfriend with her high school bully. As the second weekend approaches, Christopher Showerman’s Same Time, Next Christmas delivers an early dose of holiday storytelling on Friday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m., tracking a young boy’s annual visits with Santa Claus as they grow into a heartwarming lifelong friendship.
