The Cocktail Slippers Release New Single “This Town”
An ode to Oslo, Norway
Norwegian garage glam rockers, The Cocktail Slippers, have officially released their latest single, “This Town“. Described as a love song to their hometown of Oslo, Norway. The single celebrates the beauty found in everyday surroundings—from familiar streets and shared community experiences to the “rough edges” that make a hometown unique.
While the band is often known for their hard-rocking, ’70s garage glam-rock inspired sound, “This Town” reveals a softer side. Built around glitter-drenched hooks, warm harmonies, and a laid-back groove, the song captures the deep emotional connection people feel for the places they call home.
More that just a tribute
According to the band, “This Town” is more than just a tribute; it is a reflection on the complexities of urban life. “It’s a song reflecting on the different layers in any town,” the band explained. “You have dark streets and shady people at the same time as you have kids playing, sunshine and good vibes”.

The Cocktail Slippers feature lead vocalist Sandra Szabo (aka Flame), guitarists Stine Bendiksen (aka Rocket Queen) and Sara Andersson (aka Vega), bass player Astrid Waller (aka Sugar Cane), and drummer Maria Storaas (aka Smash).
New album on the horizon: JOYRIDE
“This Town” serves as the second preview of the band’s forthcoming album, Joyride, which is set to be released on August 28 via Wicked Cool Records. The album was recorded at Propeller Studios in Oslo with engineer Michael Scott Hartung. The single follows the recently released title track, “Joyride,” and promises to balance the band’s signature rock-and-roll roots with their gift for irresistible, power-pop melodies.
