Hyper SoCal: Glendale Elevates Regional Art Spaces with Fall 2026 Exhibition Lineup

Following its initial launch in January 2026, the Hyper SoCal regional initiative is rolling out its Fall 2026 exhibition season. Originated at Glendale’s historic Brand Library & Art Center, this unique SoCal treasure combines gallery space with specialized art and music library collections. Hyper SoCal celebrates the thriving artist community and vibrant cultural histories across Southern California and redefines how audiences experience our vibrant creative ecosystem.

Championing Mission-Based and Municipal Art Spaces

Hyper SoCal shines a dedicated light on mission-based and municipally run contemporary art venues throughout the region. These institutions occupy a key role in the Southern California art landscape, frequently hosting ambitious, non-commercial work that might otherwise be unsuitable for commercial galleries or major museums.

By connecting diverse communities directly with regional creators, the Fall 2026 season mobilizes partner venues to present site-specific installations, interdisciplinary programming, and innovative showcases. “Hyper SoCal captures the collaborative energy that makes Southern California an epicenter for creativity,” notes Lessa Pelayo-Lozada, Director of Glendale Library, Arts & Culture. Hyper SoCal Founder and GLAC Exhibition Coordinator Stephanie Sherwood adds that the program invites audiences to discover unexpected visual art across the region, from transit hubs to municipal galleries.

Glendale’s Unwavering Commitment to Civic Culture

This regional leadership demonstrates Glendale Library, Arts & Culture’s long-standing dedication to public art since its founding in 1907 and the entire region is better because of it. Encompassing eight neighborhood facilities—including the 93,000-square-foot Central Library and the historic 1904 Brand Library mansion—GLAC serves as the chief liaison to the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission.
