Blood, Bowie, & Warhol: Camp Horror Hits the Stage in WARHOL/FRANKENSTEIN 4D

A campy comedy adaptation of the 1973 cult film resurrects Factory superstars with ’60s rock, psychedelic projections, and a front-row Splatter Zone.

If you thought Andy Warhol’s 1973 cinema assault Flesh for Frankenstein was wild, writer-director Steven Vlasak’s WARHOL/FRANKENSTEIN 4D! takes the camp and mayhem to a whole new dimension. This adults-only (18+) production at Hollywood’s Hobgoblin Playhouse stars some of LA’s brightest comedy and clowning stars who resurrect Warhol’s doomed “Superstars” while drenching the front row–designated as the official “Splatter Zone” in bloodshed. Rain ponchos are offered on loan for brave audience members sitting up front.

Art Films, Newsreels, and ’60s Anarchy

Set against a backdrop of period newsreels, psychedelic art films, and ’60s tracks by The Velvet Underground, David Bowie, and Bob Dylan, a versatile cast tackles multiple roles to bring the Factory era back to life. Andrew Goetten stars as Andy Warhol, alongside Jordan Mullins as Edie Sedgwick and The Bride. Danny McCarthy doubles as Lou Reed and Baron Frankenstein, Emma Jansen plays Valerie Solanas and Brigid Berlin, and JJ Phillips appears as Warhol’s co-conspirator Paul Morrissey.

The Mastermind Behind the Mayhem

Writer-director Steven Vlasak brings extensive television and film industry experience to the production. His previous theatrical credits include Fringe Festival hits Disrobed, Beautiful Monsterz, and Nights at the Algonquin Round Table. He also collaborated with Grammy-winning composer David Arkenstone on Mona Lisa Missing! the Musical and The Fall of Atlantis.
