Announcement of Closing
The Write-off Room’s social media director Cheryl Bianchi posted this statement today.
“It is with a heavy heart we make this announcement….
We know word is leaking out, so guess it’s time to face reality.
After wrestling with the issue for quite a while, Maggie and Bill Lynch have made the decision to sell The Write Off Room.
It will leave a big hole in the hearts and social calendars of our regulars and all music aficionados, and sting the folk who’ve more recently discovered the club, but the hope is to find a buyer who will keep it a music venue. The Valley really does need to be served and this place has presented some of the most renowned musicians working via the best sound ever in a nightclub.
Our hope is to squeeze in as many shows as we can before the final curtain is drawn…there’s some excellent music being presented over the next couple of months. You should def take advantage of it.
Out With A Bang!
We’ve booked the Room thru mid January and unless otherwise notified, that will be it. As of this moment, Van Dyke Parks and Friends will be the final show. Out with a bang! We WILL be hosting a New Years Eve party with The Deductions, so that can be an opportunity to gather and wish each other well and adieu.
Thank you to all the brilliant musicians who played here over the years. Thank you to Lauren Huxtable, Kai, and the staff, who make things run as smoothly as possible. Thank you to Jeff Sherman for being the team mascot and documenting so much of what happened here.
Thank YOU for making this whole scene happen. Thank you for all the friendships that have been forged. And thank you, Maggie and Bill, for letting us know what is possible.
As the social media director and whatever else I am, it has been my pleasure to get to know you.
If you know anyone who might be a potential buyer, please email Cheryl Bianchi at cherylbianchi4@gmail [dot] com. All serious inquiries will be followed up. It has been an enormous pleasure to share our love of music together, and a pure joy to turn you on to the best musicians in the world! We know you appreciate it.“
Here’s hoping this can remain a music venue and a place for people gather together to experience live music in an intimate setting with state of the art sound.
