ZEBRAHEAD Lights Up With New Single & Lyric Video “Smoke Signals From My Couch”
A full-bodied anthem from one of our favorite SoCal ska/skatepunk outfits
Southern California’s premier genre-blenders, zebrahead, are back at full throttle with their new high-velocity single, “Smoke Signals From My Couch”. Serving as a blistering preview of their upcoming EP O, the track completes a multi-release conceptual arc that has seen the band “weaponizing” their past to create their biggest sound yet. Recorded with producers Kyle Black and Paul Miner, the song is a masterclass in “punk velocity,” fusing breakneck drums and massive, arena-ready hooks with an all-star horn section. This standout brass layer features a powerhouse lineup from the scene: Matt Appleton (Tenor Saxophone) of Reel Big Fish, John Christianson (Trumpet) of Ice Nine Kills, and Dan Regan (Trombone) of Goldfinger.
Ali Tabatabaee describes the track as a powerful statement on self-worth and independence, while drummer Ed Udhus promises it’s the perfect fit for anyone who loves metal, ska, and punk. Fueled by a fierce DIY ethos and what bassist Ben Osmundson calls a “no boss” approach, zebrahead continues to push sonic boundaries, delivering a signature blend of melody and aggression that proves they are still a vital force on the international circuit.
