COIN: A Quick, Clever, and Cryptocurrency-Fueled Buddy Comedy
Tyler Picchi and Danny Breslin cash in with great comedic rapport.
John Brownwell’s directorial debut, COIN, hit the screen at Dances With Films LA tonight, delivering a “quick and clever” buddy comedy. The world premiere follows two friends with noble intentions and a disastrously “half-baked” plan. In an effort to save their childhood park from a shady politician’s luxury housing development, the pair launches a mock political fund—only to foolishly funnel the proceeds into a cryptocurrency meme coin.

Chemistry in the Chaos
Tyler Picchi and Danny Breslin share an infectious comedic energy as the naive friends, while Roy Abramsohn provides excellent foil as a bumbling fixer coming to collect the campaign’s “funds”. The result is a dangerous and hilarious spiral into local political intrigue. Supported by standout turns from Madison West and Sharlene Radlein, COIN manages to be both a precarious caper and a fun critique of modern greed.
