After Five Years of Touring, Saskia Norman’s “Lost My Way” Lands Los Angeles Premiere

Sometimes you have to completely lose your way to find yourself.

What happens when a routine therapy session accidentally blows open a portal to your deepest past? If you’re Los Angeles-based actor, writer, and producer Saskia Norman, you turn that psychological explosion into a one-person show and take it on the road. This month, the Austrian-born artist brings her intensely personal story, Lost My Way, Upstairs @ El Centro for a run from September 26th through October 11th.

Directed by Elisabeth Halikiopoulos, the show is an unfiltered, coming-of-age story tackling heavy themes of grief, eating disorder recovery, and the chaotic culture shock of moving from a small town in Austria to Los Angeles with sharp wit and raw vulnerability.

“Bringing this show to L.A. after five years on the road feels like a true homecoming for the material,” Halikiopoulos said. “Saskia balances devastating vulnerability with brilliant comic timing, creating a transformative theatrical experience that resonates with anyone who has ever had their life flipped upside down.”

From AADA to the International Stage

Norman first began writing “Lost My Way” during her final year at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) under the guidance of award-winning actor and writer Debra DeLiso. She expanded the piece during the pandemic and has since toured international festivals across the world. Backed by the Austrian Cultural Forum, Norman’s stage success eventually earned her special performance invitations in London and Washington, D.C.

Full-Circle Hollywood Homecoming

An L.A. premiere holds a profound significance for Norman, marking a true milestone since she relocated back to the city to expand her career. Beyond her stage roots, Norman has voiced several commercial campaigns and recently played the role of Grace Ritchie in the horror feature “The Jolly Monkey,” produced by cult-indie studio The Asylum (the creators of Sharknado).

Returning to Hollywood to premiere her most vulnerable work brings the artist back to her home of choice, right where the journey began.
